Accessibility Statement
Last updated: October 2026
At WordClover, accessibility is an architectural pillar, not an afterthought. We believe everyone—regardless of motor ability, visual acuity, or assistive technology preference—deserves an enjoyable, barrier-free word search experience.
Our 4 Equal-Citizen Input Models
High-performance continuous pointer dragging with angle-snapping and sub-pixel SVG ribbons on desktop and touch devices.
Tap the start cell, then tap the destination cell. Designed specifically for tremors, switch devices, and fine-motor challenges.
Navigate seamlessly with Arrow keys. Press Space or Enter to drop an anchor, move with arrows, and press Enter to commit.
Turn on Assistive Solve in the Word Bank to reveal a word directly. It is off by default and is an accommodation for screen-reader, motor, and switch-device users. Assisted runs are labelled and are not counted toward daily streaks or best times.
WCAG 2.2 Conformance Highlights
- Contrast (Minimum) (1.4.3): Audited core interfaces meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio against their light and dark backgrounds.
- Keyboard (2.1.1): All board interactions, settings, and modal dialogs are 100% operable with only a keyboard.
- No Keyboard Trap (2.1.2): Focus order is strictly managed with focus rings and dialog escape traps.
- Target Size (Minimum) (2.5.8): Audited interactive cells provide touch target sizes of at least 24×24 CSS pixels.
- Status Messages (4.1.3): Live regions (
aria-live="polite") provide real-time updates as words are discovered.
Feedback & Remediation
We continuously audit our platform using automated accessibility test suites (axe-core WCAG 2.2 AA) and keyboard roving-tabindex emulation. We welcome direct feedback from assistive technology users—if you discover any accessibility obstacle or barrier, please notify us immediately at our reporting page.
